Congratulations — you've already spoken with Patricia during your discovery call, and now that you're officially working with us, it's time to meet with your design team. This first meeting happens in person or over Zoom, whichever fits your schedule, and it's where everything we know so far turns into a real direction for your home. Here's exactly what to expect.
How We Prepare for Your Design Meeting
This design meeting is the working session that kicks off before we begin the actual design process. Ahead of it, we send you a short questionnaire designed to get at your wants and needs — the priorities, preferences, and practical details that shape a project before we sit down together again.
We'll also ask you to gather any inspirational images that speak to you, however you've been collecting them: a Pinterest board, saved photos, torn-out pages, whatever you've got. That way, our time together is spent going deeper on what you've already told us, not starting from a blank page.
In the Meeting — Four Conversations
01 Talking Through Your Style
Your first meeting is where we go through your questionnaire answers and inspirational images together. We're less interested in the images themselves than in why they caught your eye: is it the color, the texture, the way the light hits the room?
We'll also ask a few direct follow-up questions to get past surface-level preferences: What does your dream home actually look like, lived in? Which design styles do you keep coming back to, even if you can't name them? Are there colors you're drawn to, or ones you'd rule out immediately? Some homeowners gravitate toward Palm Beach's classic light and bright look; others are drawn to something deeper and more layered. Either is a fine answer — this meeting is how we find out which one is actually yours.
02 Understanding Your Needs
Style is only part of the picture, and it's also what your questionnaire helps us get to before we meet. We'll talk through how you actually live in the space day to day — how you entertain, whether you're designing around kids or pets, and what matters most to you in each room. The goal is to understand your life first, so the design serves it rather than the other way around.
03 Talking Timeline
We'll talk honestly about when you'd like the project finished — whether that's before a specific event, ahead of the winter season, or simply whenever it's done right. South Florida's seasonal rhythm matters here too: demand and lead times shift with snowbird season, and waterfront and coastal properties often have their own scheduling considerations. We'll set expectations early so nothing catches you off guard later.
04 Talking Budget
We also discuss budget in this meeting. We talk it through together, honestly and without pressure, so you leave with a realistic sense of where things stand before we move into sourcing.
By the end of this meeting, we'll have a clear, shared picture of your style, your needs, your timeline, and your budget — everything we need to start designing.
